In a significant development for the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), the installation of new Ceremonial Archbishops and Archdeacons took place at the distinguished Anagkazo Campus, Mampong Akuapem.
The event was the third in the series of ceremonies held on the historic day, Monday, October 23rd 2023. The novel, colorful event marked the first ever installation of 3 Lay Reverend Ministers as Ceremonial Archbishops and 2 Lay Reverend Ministers as Archdeacons.
The entire ceremony was conducted by the Senex Council (the governing body of the United Denominations), with their Convener, Bishop Richard Aryee; while the proud father, Presiding Bishop Dag Heward-Mills looked on with admiration.
After a beautiful procession into the Great Hall, each candidate’s profile was read, highlighting their ministerial achievements.

The dream and vision of the founder, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is to have a Ceremonial Archbishop in every denomination under the United Denominations. Presently however, only 3 denominations have the privilege of having a Ceremonial Archbishop. They will therefore represent the entire United Denominations. Their tasks will include church dedications, funerals and burial services, organizing consecrations and ordinations and act as liaison between Affiliated Denominations and the United Denominations among many others.
With the installation of these new Ceremonial Archbishops and Archdeacons, the UD-OLGC looks forward to exciting new strides and greater heights!
