Samaria Ah! Samaria Ah! Samaria Ah!

Tell me you did not hear guest artist, Minister OK, put on a splendid show at this year’s Qodesh’s Got Talent finale.

The scene backstage was electric; last minute equipment checks, a frenzy of finalists hustling to get their final pieces ready for the night, nervous prayers from concerned parties. THE PRESSUREEE!!.

The finalists were Nana Misoenu, Judelle, CDS, Prince, Bars from the Prophet and Troopers. They were very brilliant performers but of course, there has to be a winner! The audience came with high expectations and of course, the contestants did not disappoint. Every single performance was captivating! There was an unspoken battle of bars between our two spoken word contestants, Nana Misoenu and Bars from the Prophet. They brought their A game!

The dancers CDS, Troopers and Prince left no stone unturned, no limb unfurled, no muscle unflexed. The night also had amazing performances, like the song from the Makarios rappers featuring the most energetic over seventy year old in the world! We saw what 70 with ease really looks like! Serving God in whichever way has no age limit. It’s got to be till your last breath.

All this was made possible by the Grace of God and a rigorous four month preparation. First was the auditions, which took the judges to all the Qodesh Family Church Councils: Qodesh, Mandela and Gbawe councils in search of Talents. This yielded 48 contestants which was scaled down to 24 for the semi-finals and then 14 at the finals. These contestants were groomed physically and spiritually with several hours of prayer and retreats. They also had opportunities to visit some successful companies and receive counseling from very prominent individuals who coached them on their different talents and skills. It was in fact a total package.

A total of 75 souls were won.

The night came to an end with a huge surprise for the fans of Bars from the Prophet who were left disappointed when he was adjudged fifth. CDS danced away with the first prize while the first and second runners up went to Nana Misoenu and Prince respectively.

The winner received a trip to Dubai, the first runner up, a one year educational scholarship worth five thousand Ghana Cedis and the second runner up, two thousand Ghana Cedis and other goodies including a Makarios Library and some electronics. It was an exciting night and a show of talents! I was awed by some of the performances and of the energy with which they exhibited their showmanship.

Qodesh indeed has Got Talent!

Thank you Bishop Dag for building us such a beautiful church and giving us the liberty to worship God in our own little and special ways, thank you Bishop Nii Adjeidu Armar and the Convener of Qodesh, Bishop Dennis Agyei-Gyan for this great opportunity. Thank you organizers for giving us the opportunity to unearth special talents. Thank you to the individual and corporate sponsors who took up the cost and sponsorship of prizes. This would not have been possible without you.

Congratulations to CDS for the well deserved win and kudos to all contestants, it was a good fight.
