St. Adelaide International Schools (SAIS), a brainchild of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, is part of the many wings of his Ministry. This noble institution has been in existence for the past twenty-eight years. The school started in 1995 as Lighthouse Christian Mission School under the leadership of his wife, Episcopal Sister Adelaide Heward-Mills, who was the first attendant, teacher, headmistress, administrator and directress. The school started as a playgroup with two children, of whom one was their daughter.  The school has now grown into three schools in Sampa Valley, Dansoman and Aburi with a total population of 866.

St. Adelaide International Schools has 88 affiliate schools across 11 countries, 74 of which can be found in the 16 regions of Ghana, 14 in other parts of Africa and one in Fiji, in the South Pacific. All these affiliate schools were started by missionaries who were sent to start churches by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills. There are about 17,000 students enrolled in these schools.

The school ran the GES curriculum for 23 years and transitioned to the Cambridge curriculum in 2018 under the prophetic directive of our Prophet, Bishop Dag.

On the occasion of the Prophet’s 60th birthday, students across the five St. Adelaide Schools campuses, namely Sampa Valley Secondary, Sampa Valley Primary, Sampa Valley Nursery,  Dansoman and Aburi celebrated with various activities put together by the students and staff.

The celebrations started from Wednesday the 10th of May, with documentaries on Bishop Dag’s Ministry and an exhibition of some of his works in a gallery on Thursday 11th May. The celebrations were crowned on Friday with a soul winning outreach, a Christian activity which is so dear to Bishop Dag’s heart. Other activities included an SRC-directed play by the secondary students at the Sampa Valley campus which depicted the beginning of his ministry, challenges, victories the Lord gave him and miracles and testimonies from the Healing Jesus Crusades.

The CEO of our noble school, ES Marnette-Pamela Dickson, led the Accra campuses to cut cakes in honour of our father, expressing our gratitude and sincere appreciation to God for such a milestone in his life and for God’s goodness to him, his ministry and family. Mrs. Annabel Quansah did same at the Aburi campus.

Prayers were said for Bishop Dag by John Dag Aboagye, Israel Aryee, Israel Jed Hammond and Lil Paula Danielle Nterful for divine protection by the precious blood of Jesus, preservation and the perennial provision of his needs according to God’s riches in glory and also for the growth of his ministry and multiple blessings upon his household.

There was a dance off to crown the celebrations that saw diverse dance moves on display by students and staff. What a joy it was!

The celebration of the diamond jubilee of Bishop Dag, will forever be etched in the minds of the students of SAIS as it was a remarkable and unforgettable one. St Adelaide International Schools is blessed and very honoured to have an astute and ingenious father in the person of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills.

God bless Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and continually remain with him throughout his journey with Christ; teaching him to do His Will and increasingly leading him through all uprightness by the Grace of God.

Long Live Bishop Dag Heward-Mills! A true example of Christ in Soul-Winning.
