“The righteous perish and no one takes it to heart, the devout are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.” – Isaiah 57:1-2.
It was a solemn but hopeful moment on Saturday 11th September 2021, when the mortal remains of Reverend Julius Kaba Alirah was laid to rest at Walewale in the North-East Region of Ghana.
The late Reverend Julius Kaba Alirah was the pastor of the Sandema branch of the Jesus Is The Answer Church Denomination in the Upper East Region of Ghana. He joined Lighthouse Chapel International in Tamale in 2006 where he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal savior. He then moved to Navrongo where he joined the Ushers Ministry. In 2008, he availed himself to a scholarship offered by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills to attend the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Centre. Julius completed his Bible school training in 2012 and offered to go to Sandema where he took over a church with a few members and successfully pastored and grew it into a big church. He also started branches in Chuchuliga and Chiana, and was very instrumental in the construction of the Sandema and Chiana Church Buildings.
The Funeral Service for Reverend Julius took place at the majestic Central Cathedral, Honey Rock Victorious Church of Elim Ghana in Walewale. The Archbishop of the United Denominations, Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC) Archbishop Kwasi Ampofo, conducted the Funeral Service. He expounded on scriptures from James 1:27 and Revelation 14:13 – And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. The spirits and souls of all gathered were uplifted and assured that the departed brother was in a better place. The comforting word from the Archbishop dispelled the gloom and doom that had permeated the atmosphere. He encouraged all to put in their best in service to God while there was still time.
The funeral was very well attended by Shepherds, Pastors, Reverend Ministers and four Bishops including the Convener of the Jesus is the Answer Church, Bishop Daniel Kwaku Atiemoh. Also in attendance was the North East Regional Minister.
Reverend Julius will be fondly remembered for his forcefulness in acquiring the lands for the Sandema and Chiana Church Buildings, and for supervising the construction of the said buildings.
He will also be remembered for his avid Evangelism in market places in Wiagah and Sandema.
Reverend Alira was 35 years old and is survived by his beautiful wife, Selena and two young children Phanuel (2 years) and Nichole (3 months). May his soul rest in perfect peace.
