South Sudan is a landlocked country in East/Central Africa. It is bordered to the east by Ethiopia, to the north by Sudan, to the west by the Central African Republic, to the southwest by Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south by Uganda and to the southeast by Kenya. Its rich biodiversity includes lush savannas, swamplands, and rainforests that are home to many species of wildlife. It has a population of 12 million, of which 500,000 live in the capital and largest city Juba.
South Sudan gained independence from the Republic of the Sudan in 2011, making it the most recent sovereign country in Africa.
JUBA MISSION
Responding to the call to ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’ and flowing with the vision of our Prophet and Founder, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, to have churches in 190 nations, Bishop Kakra Baiden, Chairman of the Catch The Anointing Centre (CtAC) Denomination, sent a team of two, Bishop Brian and Pastor Stephen Korankye to Juba, South Sudan to start a church.
The team arrived in Juba on October 31st 2020 and started evangelism and some outreaches.
Catch the Anointing Center South Sudan started on Sunday 15th November 2020 in Nyakuron West, a suburb of the capital Juba. By the Grace of God, fifteen (15) people were in attendance for the very first service held at the church premises.
The Covid 19 pandemic reared its ugly head in South Sudan in February 2021. The accompanying effect of a lockdown ushered in a three months hiatus from physical church gatherings for all churches in the country. Regardless, Pastor Stephen Korankye, the Missionary to Juba resorted to online services, reaching a handful of its members over the period. Consequently, the Church embarked on constant visitation to interact with and feed the sheep the Lord has given.
The lockdown was lifted and in-person service attendance resumed on Sunday, 18th of April 2021.
Pastor Stephen was ordained on the 16th of May 2021.
By God’s Grace CtAC South Sudan currently has a membership of fifty (50) established people. Aside the sound produced by instruments and excitement from cheerful souls, our services are illuminated by a warm glow of Love, Peace and Joy diffused by the Presence of the Holy Spirit.
The Church has acquired a piece of land and the building project is slated to begin in July 2021, when Bishop Kakra Baiden visits Juba with a team of builders.
The Lord has been good and with what He has done so far, we believe there are greater works to be done and more territories will be taken for Lord, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
