By kind courtesy of Our Prophet, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and Bishop Steve O. Asare, Convener of the Lighthouse Chapel International Denomination, the King of Kings Cathedral was blessed to have one of the true sons of Our Prophet, Bishop Kweku Amponsah, teach us on the subject of Loyalty and Disloyalty.
On the first day of the two-day Conference, Bishop Kweku espoused the Reasons why Loyalty is Important. The pivotal scripture was 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. He stirred the hearts of listeners to exhibit faithfulness in all facets of their lives, especially in their walk with God and in their commitment to the Church. He exhorted that, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: ….” Proverbs 28:20
The preaching was passionate, down-to-earth and strong in delivery. Surely, any “5th column” tendencies in anyone present would not escape being expunged! Mindsets were changed and warped views about the relevance and importance of faithfulness were corrected.
Bishop Kweku reminded congregants that it was a dangerous thing to touch God’s anointed. David reverenced Saul because Saul had been anointed by God thus David refrained from slaying him with the sword. Apparently, David’s followers had learnt from his actions therefore, later on, they accorded him the same reverence when he (David) took Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife and orchestrated the killing of Uriah. David reaped the good seeds he had sown. Bishop Kweku Amponsah taught that the end of the Unfaithful and Disloyal person was unequivocally terrible, thus he prayed for all to remain steadfast and firmly grounded.
On the second and final day, The Culture of Allegiance from Bishop Dag Heward-Mills’ bestselling book, Loyalty and Disloyalty, was the icing on the cake.
Bishop Kweku encouraged everyone gathered to speak positively about Our Prophet, Bishops, Pastors and the Church. He drew attention to the fact that God would not finish His work in one’s life without involving a man. In Acts 8:31, the Ethiopian eunuch received understanding of the Holy Scriptures through a Man of God. He reiterated how Our Prophet had given his life wholeheartedly to soul-winning and doing jaw-dropping, amazing, and stupendously wonderful things for the Kingdom of God. It is time for God’s people to return to defending the Gospel and the Anointed Servants of God.
We must restore the ‘tightness’ that made it difficult for discontented persons to malign and cause divisions amongst us.
Bishop Kweku Amponsah
