Last week, a wave of excitement swept through Kumasi as Bishop Dag Heward-Mills arrived in the Ashanti Region for a series of impactful events. He was welcomed with so much love and admiration, merging recognition, reflection, and revival.

The visit marked a significant milestone as Bishop Dag was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious Millennium Excellence Awards 2025 at the Manhyia Palace. The event, hosted by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, celebrated leaders across various sectors for outstanding service to Ghana and beyond. The award acknowledged Bishop Dag’s extensive contribution to ministry, humanitarian work, and leadership development across continents.

Earlier that day, Bishop Dag also participated in the Millennium Golf Invitational, a special gathering of dignitaries, clergy, and influencers. Held at the Royal Golf Course in Kumasi, the event created memorable moments, including his meeting with the Asantehene, symbolising mutual respect between traditional and spiritual leadership.

As part of his visit, Bishop Dag made a stop at the only Eschatos Church in Kumasi – Fountain of Life Cathedral in Ayeduase, where he preached a compelling message titled “The Blueprint”. Drawing from Luke 14, he outlined what he described as God’s plan for ministry, evangelism, and church growth, encouraging believers to see the work of the church as a joyful and intentional calling.

“The church is like a great supper,” he said. “It must be made beautiful, inviting — a place where people want to stay.” He went on to emphasise the importance of consistency, revelation, and passionate service in the ministry.
In addition, he was welcomed with a beautiful celebration in advance of his birthday, as this was his first visit to the church.

He also visited the River of Life Cathedral in Tikrom, one of the largest churches in the region, where he was warmly welcomed by pastors and members. Throughout the trip, Bishop Dag showed deep appreciation for the churches in Kumasi and their continued faithfulness. “Faithfulness is what is rewarded in heaven,” he noted during his message, referencing the longstanding commitment of leaders and members in the region.

The visit highlighted the church’s dynamic growth and evolving structures, alongside its lively worship, all while underscoring the enduring importance of its foundational principles: service, evangelism, and love.
