During the weekend of 22nd-23rd March 2025 Bishop Dag Heward-Mills brought a powerful message to the churches in Pleasant Surprise Church International, Belgium and Candle In The Dark Church, Paris. The services saw an overwhelming turnout, with over 500 attendees in Belgium and 150 in France, eager to receive the word of God from him.

These landmark visits provided an opportunity for reflection on our faith, the simplicity of Christ, the need for us to develop the compassion of a samaritan for our ailing world and the grace to build the church into a megachurch.

Speaking in Belgium, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills emphasized the unadorned truth of Christianity, stating that the Gospel is direct and uncomplicated, 2 Corinthians 11:3. He explained that Jesus has a wonderful simplicity about Him and when we come to Christ we must know that we’ve come to something that is simple. He urged the congregation to respond to God’s call with compassion and seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness.
In Paris, he encouraged the church to fight for victory in the realm of the spirit to save the souls of men. He likened building the church to climbing a mountain, referencing Isaiah 2:2, emphasizing that although the process is arduous, those who persist will witness God’s victory.

The sermons were well received by the congregation, many of whom left inspired to deepen their commitment to God.
“It was a blessing, truly encouraging,” one member shared. “The prophet assured us that in the last days, the church will stand strong. If you stay faithful, you will see victory.”
Another member remarked, “The pastor reminded us that Christianity is simple. We just need to obey and take action. That day, I understood that living the Gospel isn’t complicated—it’s about stepping out in faith and trusting God to use us.”
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills reminded the church of our mission to spread the Gospel as stated in Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.”
As the church continues its growth, his message resonates—faith is about unwavering commitment, trust, and obedience. Will you embrace the simplicity of Christ today?
