Archbishop Kwasi Ampofo’s recent visit to the Northern and Bono Regions of Ghana was a multi-faceted one. In addition to being blessed and impacted spiritually, members of the Wa, Navrongo and Paga Cathedrals had the privilege of receiving a further touch of his fatherliness through special interactive meetings and fellowship times which resulted in the churches being strengthened and stabilized.
WA
In Wa, he visited the new pastor, Rev. Kwabena Amoako Doku and his family, who have been recently transferred to take over the Church. He held a one night convention at the Jesus the Truth Cathedral. He spoke about transfers and the challenges that arise from them. He encouraged the pastors, shepherds and the general congregation to overcome these challenges and rally behind their new pastor, to build a mega church. Rev. Kwabena Amoako Doku had been the pastor of the Agric Nzema Church in Kumasi for 10 years.
NAVRONGO
The Navrongo Cathedral was blessed with a 2-day Convention with the Archbishop. It was well attended despite heavy rains being experienced at the time. Members were blessed and encouraged to support their new pastor recently transferred from the Damongo Church. Rev Dennis Djablartey formerly pastored the Navrongo Church.
PAGA
Archbishop Kwasi Ampofo also visited the Paga Church, during his trip. Although it had rained heavily that morning, members gathered in defiance to receive this historic visit to the Church. Paga is the boarder town between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
The Paga Church was started in 2004 by Dr. Patrick Ansah, as a lay person who works at the Navrongo Medical Research Centre. Currently, the Church is being pastored by Rev. Richard Ampredu who was recently transferred from the Gambaga Church.
