The UD-LWM Nursing and Medical Community brought together a six member panel, all long standing members of the UD (ranging from 20-30 years) consisting of highly knowledgeable, experienced and professional medical practitioners, well versed in their fields of study, (Dr. Mala Freeman-Kwaku – USA, Dr. Chibuikem Onuzo – Ghana, Dr. Stephen Doku – UK, Dr. Ben Dadebo – UK, LP Theresa Sakyiama – USA and the Host, LP Hannah Brocke – USA, for a Seminar on Fertility and Reproductive Health.
Topics discussed included:
- What is infertility and reproductive health?
- Types of infertility
- Infertility in men and women and their causes
- Dealing with the very difficult issues of infertility and reproductive health as a Christian
At the end of the session, questions asked were not for the purpose of further understanding or clarification, but on the myths and misconceptions surrounding infertility and reproductive health, that for lack of time could not be addressed.
In the words of a satisfied participant, “The Seminar was a stitch in time, considering the amount of misleading information and solutions presented on this topic on the internet.”
Overall, it was a very informative and educative seminar. Many viewers who were ill-informed and misinformed about the topic, had so much to learn, unlearn and re-learn about reproductive health. It was simply brilliant!
