Yesterday’s Good Friday Miracle Service at Independence Square was amazing! The whole place was filled with people who wanted to experience God’s presence, with President John Dramani Mahama also in attendance. From the moment our Father and our Pastor, Bishop Dag Heward‑Mills, took the stage, you could feel that this wasn’t just another service. It was a reminder of why we gather, why we believe, and why the blood of Jesus still speaks today.

The service, which has become one of the largest Christian gatherings in the nation, focused on the significance of the crucifixion and the power of the blood of Jesus. Bishop Dag shared a powerful message about the serpent and how the enemy works quietly, subtly, trying to weaken and destroy.

He explained how different serpents kill, some by bleeding you out, others by paralysing you, and how sin works in the same way. But then he brought it home beautifully: Jesus came as the antidote. The blood is the anti‑venom.

Throughout the message, Bishop Heward‑Mills highlighted the importance of the Word of God and the believer’s testimony in overcoming spiritual attacks. He reminded the congregation that “anywhere the blood reaches, life is restored,” pointing to the central role of Christ’s sacrifice in the Christian faith. (1 John 3:8 and Revelation 12:11)

From start to finish, the service was a reminder of why we gather every Good Friday: To say, with full hearts, Thank you, Jesus, for your blood. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for Good Friday.
