On May 9-10, 2025, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills arrived in Kumasi, Ghana, at the Manhyia Palace to receive the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize at the Millennium Excellence Awards. The award has been organised every 5 years since its commencement in February 2012. This is one of the highest recognitions bestowed upon individuals whose contributions to national and continental development are profound and transformative.

The award recognised Bishop Dag’s decades of service in Christian ministry, humanitarian outreach, literature, leadership development, and the planting of thousands of churches around the world. As the founder of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), his work has influenced countless lives across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and beyond. Our Pastor has been numbered amongst some of the most influential men in Ghana, including statesmen, diplomats, business leaders, traditional authorities, and even the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama himself!
The event formed part of the Millennium Excellence Foundation’s broader mission to honour exemplary leaders in public service, business, science, and faith. Bishop Dag’s recognition was a highlight of the evening, drawing applause for his unwavering commitment to spiritual leadership and social impact.
This latest honour adds to a growing list of acknowledgements for Bishop Dag’s lifelong dedication to the ministry of Jesus Christ, mentorship, and nation-building through faith.
