A whole week has gone by since the end of the Homecoming Convention, but the buzz is still on… the atmosphere still lingers, and even the airport still reels from the excitement of remaining delegates making their way back to wherever they came from!!!
Almost 4,000 people flew in from all around the world (excluding those pouring in from different regions of Ghana) as well those who drove in from neighboring countries and from others not so close, who made a 4-day journey just to make it to Homecoming!!!
After a long 12-year hiatus, the thrill for this year’s Homecoming was contagious. The Anagkazo campus was alive with activity! From November 5th to 8th 2024, the serene, picturesque campus was transformed into a vibrant hub of worship and fellowship, as attendees from countries spanning continents from the Americas to Africa, Asia, and Europe—flocked to Ghana for this historic gathering.
The crisp November air in Mampong Akwapim carried with it a sense of anticipation as thousands gathered for the grand Homecoming Convention 2024 at Anagkazo Bible School.
The Opening Ceremony, held at the Jesus Saviour of the World Square was a dazzling spectacle, traced the rich history of the church, from its humble beginnings to its present-day multiple denominations. With a colorful flag parade and a brief address by the First Lady, Episcopal Sister Adelaide Heward-Mills the Homecoming Convention was duly opened.
The sessions that followed were nothing short of anointed! The vibrant praise and worship, the energetic choreographies of the tireless dancing stars and the word aptly delivered by the one and only indefatigable Bishop Dag Heward-Mills were something else!
With 1 Corinthians 16:22 as his foundational scripture, Bishop Dag, overflowing with joy to see his children come home, wove skillfully through the scriptures, preaching and teaching passionately about Loving God and the importance of Shepherding as proof of Love – God’s Love language as he put it.
The morning sessions also had a special flavor to them. The age-old message of Loyalty which has been the backbone of the United Dag Heward-Mills Ministries (UDHMM), and that has bound us together as a family all these years, was stirred up.
Tours were made to historic sites, and meetings in between to meet and interact with the Prophet of this Commission and other governing bodies of our great church were to die for.
Special mention must be made of the majestic and imposing Kuriake Castle, the latest addition to the scenic skyline of the Anagkazo Campus, Headquarters of the UDHMM, which our multi-talented Father and Prophet sprang up literally within months!!!! Simply breathtaking!!!
By the final day, hearts were united in a common mission—to Love and to Serve, to Shepherd as Christ did.
The spirit of the Homecoming Convention 2024 left an indelible mark on every soul present, as we departed Mampong, transformed and committed to falling in love with our Maker all over again.
This is HOME and THERE IS POWER HERE!!!
